We’ve Achieved the Quality Standard

Great news at Two Gates! This weekend, we are proud to have achieved the Fish and Chip Quality Accreditation for the 6th year in a row!

In order to achieve this, we have demonstrated:

  • Excellent Hygiene Practices

  • Top Quality Food

  • Detailed Industry Knowledge

  • Approved Environmental Practices

This accreditation sets the new benchmark for quality within the industry. It signals to the consumer that they can buy with confidence.

Craig, the owner of Two Gates, expressed: “We are delighted to gain our place once again in the scheme. To be recognised as one of the top fish and chip shops by the NFFF is indeed an honour and a credit to our hardworking staff, who I would like to offer my sincere thanks for the continued hard work and efforts to maintain our excellent reputation. I would personally like to thank all our customers, new and old. The support and encouragement they have offered has been great. It has motivated us to maintain our high standards which have been recognised with this accreditation.”

Each Fish and Chip Quality Accreditation is valid for a year and retention is dependent on standards being maintained as validated by NFFF officials and appointed assessors. We have proven that we consistently serve some of the UK’s finest fish and chips.

NFFF President Andrew Crook explained: “The NFFF Quality Accreditation scheme is extremely comprehensive. Food safety is a key area that we examine together with other key aspects of the business including the preparation and cooking equipment, to the management of paperwork and the traceability of fish. Two Gates Fisheries” clearly takes pride in where it sources its fish and potatoes from. Achieving the NFFF Quality Accreditation provides reassurance to customers that they are being served cooked food using high-quality ingredients.”

The NFFF Fish and Chip Quality Accreditation is run by the National Federation of Fish Friers, the organisation that is responsible for looking after the interests of the Fish and Chip industry, since 1913.

The NFFF has a role to maintain and support chippies across the industry.  Their Accreditation Scheme aims to attract shops who are looking to stand out from the crowd and highlight their commitment to providing the very best fish and chips and standards across their business.
